Stay with us
Experience the idyllic charm of Adelsö
Our place is wonderfully beautiful, and we invite you to experience it for yourself. We offer several accommodations for rent:
- The Atelier The Rose, a charming residence with two bedrooms and a studio;
- The Dove, a delightful small one-room cottage with a kitchenette;
- and the larger The Seven Pointe Star, with five beds and a traditional country kitchen.
- New for 2026 is The Cottage Paradise, ea separate cottage with wooden floors and an open fireplace.
Every season has its own charm, but few landscapes are as beautiful as Adelsö in early summer, when lilacs and hollyhocks are in bloom, the evenings are light, and the lake water below the sauna is pleasantly warm. Here you can find quiet and peaceful rest, surrounded by the presence of the Swedish countryside, with Bronze Age burial grounds, rune stones, and ancient cultural sites just around the corner.
Whether you seek a place of retreat for writing, painting, or simply a restorative weekend away, come to Adelsö and continue your work, in the tranquil landscapes that inspired Hilma af Klint.
All accommodations are rented through Airbnb. To get there, click on the corresponding link below:

Try Swedish sauna..?

Unfortunately, the sauna burned down in a fire in August 2026.
All that remains of it is a lump of ashes.
We do not know what caused the fire.
It's therefore currently not possible to book the sauna. We will provide an update if and when the sauna is rebuilt.
However, our private bathing jetty by Lake Mälaren is still available to book.
It's located in Prästgårdsviken, approximately a 700-metre walk from the centre Hilma af Klint's Atelier.
Book the jetty by writing to us at hyra@himlaafklintsatelje.org.

"In the forest on Adelsö,
I was urged to wait before writing down what was being conveyed to me, because I would be hindered by a group of young animals (cattle) in the forest where I was, as they had a strong influence on the astral atmosphere."
