Hilma af Klints atelier on Adelsö is the first public centre and the first museum dedicated to the artist Hilma af Klint. Our activities are located on the very place that mattered so much for Hilma af Klint - on Adelsö.
Our organization is run entirely by volunteers. The association is a non-profit organization, and membership is open to anyone who wishes to join.
We receive support from the property owner Menhammar grant providers and actively apply for funding. In addition, we are fortunate to receive valuable support from our members and private individuals.
The operation and continued development of our organization depend on the support we receive—whether practical, financial, or both.

Our members are our valued supporters.
As a member, you'll receive updates about what's happening in the association through a monthly member newsletter and invitations to events. You'll enjoy discounted member pricing for most of our events and have the opportunity to help shape the organization's direction by participating in the annual general meetings. Most importantly, you'll be contributing to the growth and development of our work.
The membership fee for 2026 is SEK 200
and is valid from January 1st to December 31st 2026.
Payments received after 15 November will count toward membership for the next calendar year.
Membership is free for under 18's.

We keep the contact details of former members for two years, so if you're renewing your membership, there's no need to send us your contact information again.

Contribute Your Time
The day-to-day operations and maintenance at Hilma af Klint's Atelier on Adelsö are made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers who donate their time to many aspects of our work, from maintaining the grounds to leading guided tours and organizing events. You're also welcome to help keep the museum open and/or assist with maintaining the garden.
The more people who get involved, the more enjoyable it becomes—and the less the workload falls on just a handful of individuals.
If you contribute your time, we'll provide lunch and/or coffee and refreshments. As a token of our appreciation, you're also welcome to use our sauna on occasion.

- Garden Group – Helping maintain the gardens and outdoor spaces
- Accommodation Rentals – Assisting the rental of our residential properties, on-site follow-up
- Communications – Social media, press, and website
- Summer Exhibition – Creating the exhibition, translating materials into English, producing posters, installation, and dismantling
- Summer Exhibition Hosts – Keeping the exhibition and café open every weekend throughout the three-month exhibition period
- Hilma af Klint Library – Pursue the coordinated acquisition of books
- Artist Residency – Assisting with our one-month summer artist residency
- IT – Technical support and digital infrastructure

You can support our work at any time by making a donation. All gifts are welcome, large or small — every contribution makes a difference and helps us continue our work.
You can also make a gift in the name of a friend or loved one to mark a birthday, a christening, a wedding, or another meaningful occasion.

Make a donation through a share dividend
As a private shareholder, you can donate your share dividend to our organization without any tax consequences for either you or the recipient. To make this possible, the decision to donate must be made before the company's general meeting decides on the dividend distribution.
